What is a Save the Date?
The first official announcement of your wedding date, letting guests know that they’re invited and to “Save the Date”. This announcement can be less information than your invitation and can include a photo. Ideally, your save the date announcement would coordinate with your wedding style and color palette.
Do I really need one?
It’s a good idea to send an announcement if your wedding falls on a holiday or if you’re having a destination wedding. It gives your guests time to make their travel and hotel arrangements.
When should I send them?
As soon as you’ve set a date and secured a venue, but no more than 6-8 months before your wedding!
Who do I send them to?
Anyone who is on your guest list — so make sure your guest list in finalized before you start sending out your save the dates!
What information do I have to put on them?
Besides your favorite engagement photo, you’ll want to include your names and your wedding date and location!
